Richie Steffen will answer these questions plus much more. Learn the basics of fern cultivation and the finer details of what to do now to make your ferns look their best for spring and summer.
We’ll work in the Hardy Fern Foundation’s Victorian stumpery in the heart of the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden. Participants will cut back ferns applying the techniques learned during the class and will be shown the ferns that require special care to thrive in the garden.
After the stumpery session of the workshop, the class will visit the HFF Growing area. There we’ll see some of the new ferns in cultivation and rare treasures that are currently being propagated.
