The 50th Anniversary Fern Fest Garden Tour takes place in Seattle’s historic Mt. Baker neighborhood, featuring houses of various architectural styles, and a rich array of gardens. Five private gardens will be open, in two areas of Mt. Baker, for a pleasant walking tour of the neighborhood. On this tour, you will experience:
· An impeccably maintained, formal English boxwood garden with Northwest flair, and an adorable fern grotto
· An avid plant collector’s sculpture garden, bursting with unusual shrubs and perennials, and many ferns
· An exuberant, intensively cultivated corner garden, with many drought tolerant plants, raised vegetable beds, and heavily planted parking strips
· An Asian-themed garden with statement stonework, many mature plantings, and a lovely fern garden
· An elegant brick property with a rose garden, a variety of planting areas, and views of Lake Washington
These fantastic gardens will be open from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 4th.
Please keep in mind that these gardens are not accessible by wheelchair or other walking aids other than a cane. Pathways can be narrow and irregular with mud, gravel, or uneven paving. Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes for these conditions.
100% of ticket sales supports the Hardy Fern Foundation and its educational programs.
