American Fern Society
The American Fern Society is over 120 years old. With over 900 members worldwide, it is one of the largest international fern clubs in the world. It was established in 1893 with the objective of fostering interest in ferns and fern allies. We exchange information and specimens between members via our publications and spore exchange. We sponsor Fern Forays every summer to provide opportunities to learn more about wild ferns from experts and to meet other people with a similar passion for ferns.

British Pteridological Society
The Society was founded in the Lake District in 1891 and soon became the focal point for fern enthusiasts throughout the British Isles. Today it continues to provide a wide range of information about ferns, through its website and forum and by publishing regular journals, leaflets and books, and organising formal talks, informal discussions and outdoor meetings. The international membership includes those interested in gardening, natural history and botany, both amateur and professional. It is a friendly society run on a voluntary basis.
Delaware Valley Fern and Wildflower Society
The purpose of the Delaware Valley Fern & Wildflower Society shall be to encourage the enjoyment of native Ferns and Wildflowers by cultivating and propagating them in the home and garden; by studying them in their wild habitats, gardens and conservatories; by promoting their conservation and preservation; and by providing a forum for the exchange of information and expertise.

The Dutch Fern Association wants to connect people who are interested in ferns from a hobby or professionally. The association has about 160 members and consists of both Dutch and Belgian fern enthusiasts. The Dutch fern society also attends meetings of the German society annually.

Macaronesia is a collection of four archipelagos in the North Atlantic Ocean off the coast of the continents of Europe and Africa. They comprise The Azores, Madeira, The Canaries and The Cape Verdes. Each archipelago is made up of a number of islands.
The Fern Society of Southern Africa
Their objectives are to promote an interest in ferns (Pteridophyta), to protect indigenous ferns, to research the cultivation of ferns and to disseminate information concerning ferns. Their activities include, monthly meetings, publications, sales, spore-bank, herbarium, fern surveys and international exchange.
The Los Angeles International Fern Society
The Los Angeles International Fern Society was formed to provide a source of information on ferns, to arrange for people to study ferns and to encourage the use and enjoyment of ferns. In a more general way, the Society aims to encourage all horicultural activities by example, education, exhibits and donations.

German Fern Group

The section ferns in the society of Staudenfreunde eV is the only association in Germany that deals with outdoor ferns. The section was founded in 1998 and today has about 90 members in Germany and abroad. Interested beginners as well as the owners of some of the largest private fern collections in the world meet here.
Great Plant Picks
Great Plant Picks is an educational awards program committed to building a comprehensive palette of outstanding plants for Pacific Northwest gardens. Awards are based on the combined expertise of over forty horticulturists from Washington, Oregon and British Columbia. Great Plant Picks originates at the Elisabeth Carey Miller Botanical Garden in Seattle, Washington, and provides a forum for sharing horticultural information with the wider gardening community.
